Is that what I think it is?

It's been a long and stressful week. There are so many things on my mind at the moment and I seem to be having way too many migraines. My doctor is not happy about it. After a lengthy meeting I went to pick my daughter up at school. She asked, "Mommy, can we go somewhere?" I said, "Well, I do want to go by Joann's and see if they have my new magazines". She loves that place so we were good to go.

I always go through every publication from Somerset/Stampington & Co. So I pick up The Stamper's Sampler and begin to flip though it. As I am about to put it down to look through another publication, something just told me to look through it again.

As many of you know, Somerset is coming out with a special Marie Antoinette issue in April. I have been counting down the months and am so excited about it. My biggest dream as an artist (which I still have trouble referring to myself as) is to have something I have created published in one of the Somerset magazines. I submitted a Marie Antoinette piece that I did and was very proud of. I received my postcard back that let me know they received it, but I had not heard anything else.

Wait a second... blink, blink, blink. Is that, wha, is that, OH MY GOSH! That's my piece of artwork! I look at my daughter with my jaw touching the ground and just turn the magazine to her and she takes one look and says, "Mommy, that's your art work!" We begin to jump for joy and high five one another right there in front of everyone standing in line with their weekly coupons. My eyes get little tears and I am just so happy! What a perfect gift during my crazy week.

They used my Marie to show what was coming up in the next Stampers' Sampler issue! Mine, oh my gosh! Maybe I can use the term artist now. I am assuming that they are going to use it now since they have it here. And with that one my name will even be there. It is such a happy accomplishment for me.

My husband was thrilled for me. He knows this is something I have wanted and my parents and friends have been happy and proud for me as well.

And here is a picture of my art that I took before I sent her off. So there you have it, my exciting news. I really can't wait for April now. Hope you are all well. I am sorry to be so behind on my posts. I still have so much to share of my own and of swaps I have been doing as well. I am slowly but surely catching up so please visit again soon and have a great day!

Good Sunday To You All!

Good Sunday to you all! I hope that you have been having a good weekend. We actually got a little snow last night. It doesn't matter how little, it is still amazing to the girls.

I still have a few favorite things to share for My Love of All Things French. I have really enjoyed this event and all of the responses and participants who I have met along the way. It was a huge success in my eyes and I hope yours as well.

I am way, way behind on posting pictures of many of the wonderful things I have received from swaps as well as the things that I have sent. Please forgive me, those of you who made my day so wonderful. I will be showing you off soon.

I am still in the process of moving my studio upstairs. I feel stressed that I am not organized yet. I know it is going to be wonderful once it is all done. It has already brought the girls and I closer together. They just love having their desks in here and I have cubbies set up with all of their supplies. My husband loves having the master bedroom downstairs as well and even has his desk back now and it's all set up with his work. He hasn't had that desk for a long time, and it was just way too heavy to bring upstairs. Luckily my friend had one she was getting rid of which has worked out nicely. It is in front of my large windows so I can view the trees and clouds. I really love that.

OK, so I am now rambling. It isn't hard for me to do, especially since I can type so fast. Be sure to check out the blogs of those who participated in My Love...French. They are very beautiful and have some wonderful things they have shared. And if you would still like to share then please keep those links coming. There is no time restraints and I love seeing your collections.

Have a great week and I will be back soon with more pictures!

My Love of All Things French - Books

I'm sure you're not surprised when I tell you that this is not my entire collection of french books. But, these are some of my favorite finds....

I love french dictionaries and these are my favorites!

The illustrations are beautiful and they have such a variety of information.

Histoire - Geographie

These two books have wonderful illustrations. Perfect for scanning and using in my work.

I love hearing your feedback and seeing your items too, so keep those comments and links coming. Next I will be sharing some other cool finds, like my pendants from Paris as well as some photos from my visit many, many years ago. Have a fabulous night!

My Love of All Things French

I have had so many of you ask for info on where I purchased some of my Eiffel tower items, especially the Eiffel tower paper lantern. I have pasted info from the site which is called Shindigz. They also have a mail order catalog. I am excited to see that they have even more wonderful goodies. If any of you do purchase something, please let me know what you think. And if you know of another place to purchase french goodies then please share by posting a comment.

I am thrilled that so many of you have posted again and I have really enjoyed visiting you. I love how some of you still have things to share, as do I. As long as you would like to participate in this event the better. I will be posting pictures of my french books next and will add another Mr. Linky for anyone that would like to post their link. And never fear, if you aren't ready to post yet that is okay. You can post your link as soon as you are ready and I know I will be there with bells on! See you soon!

My Love of All Things French Day Two

I was finally able to get some pictures loaded! Big sigh of relief! I hope that you enjoy them!

If you see items that you are interested in, please let me know and I will get the info for you. I haven't done that part just yet. Above are some items from a company that has party supplies. They have a whole array of Parisian goodies! What could be better then Eiffel tower candy tins and confetti?

They also have these Eiffel tower paper lanterns. I freaked when I found them and just had to have one, or two - lol!

I told you that if I see a rubber stamp with an Eiffel tower on it, I have to have it! Below are some others with a french theme. I haven't even taken pictures of my unmounted Eiffel tower and french themed stamps. That would be an entire post within itself! If you know of one that I don't have, please oh please let me know.

I haven't used this Eiffel tower stamp set yet. It actually creates a 3D Eiffel tower. I am still a bit intimidated by it.

I'm sure you have seen these before. I just love all of the vintage glass glitter items from this line. These have even tarnished. So unique!

Top of cabinet in my studio.

I found this at target. They even have a shower curtain and more accessories. I know, I know. I'm 40 years old. But it's Hello Kitty. Who doesn't love Hello Kitty? I even lugged a huge stuffed one home from Japan.

Have to have the light switch plate!

Baker's rack in my kitchen.

Top of refrigerator.

Top of entertainment center.

The mantle. I love this banner that I made.

The record album was a gift from my good friend Nancy, and the paper Eiffel tower was from my "French sister" Jo. They are both so good to me!

This is one of my favorite finds. I still need a silver spoon with and Eiffel tower.

My mom made this aged piece for me. I cried when I unwrapped it because it was just so thoughtful.

An art challenge piece.

I love this little board that I found at one of my favorite local shops. I had to make it "french" and it was easy with the movable letters.

An eBay win tapestry.

And of course, what else could be more french then Marie Antoinette? I love this unmounted stamp from Character Constructions.

I hope you enjoyed your visit. Next I will be posting my collection of vintage french books. I would also like to announce the winner from the first day of my event. I have decided to make all of those who posted a link a winner. I am so happy to have had so many of you participate and share. It might take some time, but please email me your addresses so I can pop a little treat in the mail for you. Have a wonderful night and I hope to visit with you all again soon!
