Hey Sherry - I Finally Finished Your Christmas Cracker!

My Finished Christmas Cracker for Sherry!!

It looks like a tornado hit my craft room!

I tried and I tried, and I just could not find a tube to fit Sherry's cracker. So, I made my own container all by myself.

I am so thankful for this dude in the funky orange hat. It's Yo Gabba Gabba! I don't know if any of you have seen this show, but it is heaven sent when you are in the middle of a project and your three year old is getting into everything. I actually enjoy this crazy show though. It gives me the opportunity to be my nutty self.

IT'S IN THE MAIL AND ON IT'S WAY NORTH.....

Wow! I finally completed my first swap. And if you have read my blog, you won't be surprised that it was sent out late. But I had to get it just right.

I have never made a Christmas Cracker before. I looked it up on the Internet and printed several sets of directions and looked all over town for those crazy "popper" things that you put in one to make it "pop". Sorry Sherry, yours does not pop. The people in the stores thought I was out of my mind. "I have never seen anything like that" is what one sales person said. I kept looking, and asking, because it wouldn't be the first time that someone said "no" because they are just too lazy to do their job.
My craft room is a total mess now. It is hilarious. I completed several tries, but I was not satisfied. Sherry is an inspirational and strong woman, and I wanted it to be just right for her. Perfect and special, because she deserves that.

I did some research on Sherry by reading her blogs, checking out her Etsy store, and checking out things that she had purchased through Etsy. My brain finally started working, and I had a plan. After I made the goodies to put into the cracker, I had to package them perfectly.

So then, my stuff was too big for my cracker. Back to stage one. Finally get it all together, but how to do the ends? Well, let's just take a brain break.....

Next morning (today) I finally figure out a plan. But then, it won't fit into the mailing tube. I tried so many tubes, and none were my Cinderella. So, I make my own box. I have learned so much during my cracker adventure.

Okay, ugly box... must wrap to be pretty for Sherry. Now, wrap for post, but too plain. Now, where is my white stamp pad and my snowflake stamps?

Now to print the labels, and adhere, and DONE! Yippee! I did it! I did it!

I only hope now that it arrives safely and that she enjoys her Rhonda's First ever Swap and Christmas Cracker. Regardless, I had a blast creating it and I am really proud of myself.

Oh boy!!! Oh boy!!! Oh boy!!!
Can you see me smiling and bouncing through the internet?!? I feel like Tigger!!!

My mouth is hanging open looking at these pictures and Rhonda, you have really, really taken this on well...

I've never done a cracker either and I found it a challenge...not for what to give but how to find what I wanted that would "fit" in the cracker. I had to abandon a few ideas!!

It was fun putting them together and never worry Rhonda, your's won't "crack" either...we'll have to get Carolyn to tell us where she found the bits that "crack"!!

I'll let you know when it arrives and your's is on it's way to you...I think we mailed on the same day!
