Haunted Hand Grenede Harriett

I can't even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed putting Harriett together! This is my first "Michael DeMeng" inspired doll and I am hooked! I made her for the  Haunted Halloween Doll Challenge hosted by the amazing Tabitha Lenox aka Kim, who is such a talented artist and has inspired me for many years now.

Harriett was put together by layering her face with bunched up tissue paper and sealed for strength. I gave her larger eyebrows and painted her many shades until I decided I liked this one.

Her hat is some type of old heating element which I fancied up with vintage lace, rhinestones
and more.

Do you know what her body is made out of?

That's right! An old hand grenade. And below is a skeleton hand that I painted as well. I love how the finger is right inside of the ring. Don't pull it Mr. Hand (not a South Park reference by the way)!

I was thinking about what a rush I get from putting a doll like this together. Thinking of the theme, the items to use and then having it all fall into place. Why should I wait for a special occation though? I think I need to require myself to make one funky doll per week. I really should sell them but I get so attached. Must get over that!

And on another note..... I just HAD to share this with you as well. My little munchkin came into my room and said, "Want to see the doll that I made?" Imagine the smile on my face when I saw what she had done. She said, "I ripped the head off and made it new arms". And you know what? I was really proud of her and love that I can give my children the gift of creativity. It keeps me sane, some of the time, lol!

Thank you Kim for hosting this fab event and for once again inspirering me. I can't wait to share more with you. Be sure to click on the link below to check out other doll masterpieces by other wonderful artists!

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a wonderfully creative day!

Oh Rhonda, she's fabulous!! You DeMeng'ed her perfectly! I love all the elements and how cool to use an old grenade for the body...that's legal right? LOL Thanks so much for joining the challenge! I hope you do start making a doll a week, I would love to have some company with the dolls I'm doing too. Not everyone gets how fun it is to distress dolls! p.s. LOVE your daughter's dolly makeover! xo
