I Love Hydrangeas!

My favorite flowers are those from a hydrangea bush. Each little flower is so beautiful and I love the way you can dry them out and keep them in a pretty container.

I don't even remember how I got this plant. It was either from a small pot or a stem given to me by a sweet lady on my mobile meal route. Regardless, I've had this plant for years and it has never grown too much. I planted it on my front walk two or three years ago and it has never bloomed. In fact, it has barely grown at all.

This year I re-mulched the area and this baby started to grow like crazy. It's huge and started to bloom. Finally! I have blooms! And what a wonderful surprise to see that the blooms are pink. It is covered and I relish in the beauty of these tiny flowers every day. My youngest knows it's a "hands off" plant. Otherwise she would be picking at it like crazy.

Isn't it funny how a plant can bring such excitement? I could take a million photos of all the beauty. I read about how easy it is supposed to be to propagate a hydrangea. For Mother's Day, my girls and my amazing husband got me two more huge hydrangea bushes and my dad gave me some stuff to help it take root. I would love to cover the top of my back hill with hydrangeas. I'll let you know how it goes, lol. If you have any suggestions, feel free to leave me a comment.

Enjoy the beauty in your day!

Oh I adore Hydrangeas! Sadly, they will not grow where I live in the Phoenix valley. I loved having them around when I lived in WA state and when I visit relatives in WYO. Thanks for sharing! Yours are beautiful.

Well, I echo Holly's sentiment. I miss these beauties as much as the rest of the plants I had in Connecticut. I could not wait for September when the cool nights would cause the white hydrangeas to turn that mauve color. Then my best friend and I would pick armfuls of them and dry them to place in our Christmas trees every year. Seeing yours brings me such happiness.
