Venting

First of all, hello to all of my blogging friends. Sorry for the lack of posts. Have been very busy with swaps and shipping items from my shop, both of which I love. I am addicted to swaps, and I love it when people buy from my shop. It is part of that "thing for me" which is very valuable to my life. Having my shop and this blog and all of you has just made my life even better. Thanks!

So, sorry to use my blog for complaining, I just really need to vent about this...

I LOVE doing swaps. Putting together a package for a new person and trying to make it extra fab to put a smile on their face, and then hearing from them and know how much they loved what I did for them just gives me SO much satisfaction. Naturally, I love getting goodies as well. But when they love what I have done for them it just really makes me feel good.

So, I did this awesome swap. I was so excited because it was SO me. It wasn't hard for me to put my swap buddies package together at all and I was thrilled to send it to her. She did a sneak peak for me and that made me even more excited.

I know is sounds lame, but I love it when the mail comes every day. I look forward to what surprises I might be getting. I sent my swap buddies package out and know that it made it to her home because I had a tracking number on it. I never received a package though, which is really weird seeing how she did a post about it.

I have emailed her several times at all available spots (shop, blog, etc.) but have not heard back. The last message was just to "please let me know you are okay". I am really, honestly, sincerely concerned that something has happened to her. She has not done any post for a long time.

Then I think, well, what if she didn't like what I sent her. I like getting that message that they received my gift and that it put a smile on their face. And I think that is what bums me the most. Not that I didn't receive mine, but that I didn't hear from her.

I finally sent the "host" an email about the situation, but never heard back.

When I get up in the morn, I get my cup of coffee, check my email, and go right to her sites to see if she has posted. I know it sounds psycho, I just pray that she is okay. Please say a prayer for this anonymous person, that they are well.

I feel so silly leaving this post, I just hope that it gives me a little relief. Once I push, "publish post" I really just want to be done with it and think about it no more. I do have that little thought in the back of my mind though, "What if I join this swap and never hear from my swap buddy?" And I am sure one of you have experienced this before. It just sucks. And if she is okay then I can just say to others that if you join a swap, please don't screw over your swap buddy. I understand now why some who host a swap are adamant about not doing so. I am really disapointed.

I really do hope she is okay.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Hey R,,, i just sent you an email girl !
But anyway - why did this woman put a sneak peak on her blog , then you haven`t received it at all ? I cannot understand it myself ! has she even posted it off to you ? Sounds a bit dodgey to me .If she`s not replying , or even managed to put a post on her blog to say she is poorly , i don`t think she has even done it ! And if she reads this i`m not bothered !! No one messes with my bf Rhonda !!
You should know yourself that you can manage to do the swap , have ideas and time to create something ,THEN post it !!
Come on girl get in touch with Rhonda either way ! It`s the only good thing that you can do now !
And no problem on the venting to us at all ! you may hear something from her - but don`t hold your breath !

hugs

xx

lol, at above post. I agree. All I can say is, being a recipient of one of your goodie packages, I can say that there is no way that she could not have loved each and every thing in it. You my friend take such care in your packaging and presentaion...one would be mad not to be thrilled! Please try not to fret with this, I hope you do get your swap and you do hear from her. There may be an explanation, we are alike...in many ways...jumping to conclusions! It is hard not to, but as I said I KNOW what your goodies are like!!!!
You can vent any old time you want, and feel free to email me if you want to really vent, I am all ears.

hi Rhonda,
wow, that is so bizarre! I would be worrying like you too! I mean maybe there was an accident or something. I am in a swap now that is a month overdue because of some personal issues of my swap partner. Really scary situation she's in, so my swap box for her just sits in my family room until everything gets settled. I'm done with swaps for awhile, because they are soooo time consuming.(of course if you do another french one, I'm in!!! lol)
Love the venting!! that's what blogs are for, just saying whats on your mind and heart.
blessings,

I had this happen twice. The first person had contacted me a couple of times and then nothing. I was feeling a little sorry for myself at first and then I got really worried about her. I found out she is okay she just got busy, but still no package. It's frustrating after you work so hard and have that expectation of a package coming to your mailbox. All swappers should be more considerate of us sensitive people's feelings!! Have a great day and I hope she is okay too?

It is so sad that people do these things. Swaps are fun for all of us and surely if there was to be a delay she could have contacted you. Hope you hear from her and find out if there really was a problem.

I really hate that for you Rhonda! I am participating in my first swap, and have had so much fun coordinating and getting the items together! After you put so much thought and time into it, and then get jipped, I bet that does hurt! If you hear of any swaps, that are not too crafty, but just a theme of some sort, let me know! I'd love to join in! And the reason I say not too crafty...is I would hate to disappoint my partner if my creations were not up to par! I've seen some of the swaps of homemade items and they were fantastic...I loved them, but was thinking, I could never do that! LOL!

Hugs, Rhonda ;)

Keep the faith!

Given the swapper has not posted something must be up.

Sadly, it is a risk we all take when we swap. I am so like you that I look forward to the mail and am sad when it brings so little.

I see sweet goodies in your future!

rhonda, did you hear from your swap partner?
i think something "happened" because it just doesn't make sense that she blew you off after the facts you gave.
anyway, any word??
