Where Have I Been?
That is an excellent question. I've been living each day to the fullest and getting done what needs to get done. I am on a major cleaning spree, clearing my home of all of the extra stuff that isn't necessary anymore. I am creating art for myself, my Marie group and of course for Alpha Stamps. And, I've been enjoying my family and all of the many, many blessings that I have. I've also been hanging out with my BFF again, now that she is no longer working. Thank goodness! I've missed her.
I haven't mentioned her here before. Must be cause I usually just talk about art here. But I never would have thought that I would make such a dear friend in my 40s. I prayed for her for a long time, and she lives just across the road in the next neighborhood. We met because her daughter knows my daughter and she had a birthday party. We hit it off immediately. She also has another daughter my youngest daughters age. We are two peas in a pod and laugh so hard when we are together. She also carried me, along with God, through my hardest moments last year. And recently, she became obsessed with making bracelets. She purchased a bracelet for both of us one day and decided she could make them for herself. Now, she has a whole set up in the corner of her bedroom full of beads, tools and all sorts of chains. It cracks me up, but makes me proud as well because every woman and Mom should have something they love to do on their own. So I would like to take credit for rubbing off on her.
We love to go "junking" together at antique stores and thrift stores. It is so wonderful to have a friend that accepts me for my immature side and my creative artsy side. Especially when it comes to the odd things I collect like doll heads and antique medical supplies. Imagine how hard I laughed when she found an old doll at the flea market and carried it around with her the entire time. I gave it a good cleaning for her, a new dress and new hair. Now she is lovely and proudly displayed.
I didn't know when I came to post on my neglected blog that I would begin chatting about my friend. I just hope that all of you have a friend like her as well. Someone to laugh with, talk to, cry with and enjoy life with.
Now for some recent art....
A fan that I made for Alpha Stamps. A swap was just listed for this exact project. Go here to find out more details The Romance of Perfume Fan Swap.
Above, a crown I made using some awesome new papers and other goodies from, of course, Alpha Stamps.
Some arches I made for another one of my dear friend, Terri Gordon's swaps at the Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group. The image of Marie is from the new Alpha Stamps digital sheet Queen Marie. Imagine my excitement when all of these sheets went digital!
Okay, I've "blabbed" enough for one blog post. But I have lots more to share, like some recent treasures I have found and a ghost story or two. Thanks for stopping by and may God bless you as he has me!
