Journaling With Character Constructions

I finally, after a couple of years of wanting to but being too intimidated and a perfectionist, FINALLY started journaling! I LOVE getting lost in the pages of a book with paints, dyes, sprays, Gelatos, Aquacolors, Faber-Castell PITT pens and so much more. There is no right or wrong, just go with the flow, add layers here and there, and create. 

I have a few books I work in now and recently began a new one. As many of you know, I LOVE doing the Character Construction tag swaps. I have so many tags and treasure them all, draped all the way across my art studio. When I create a tag, I always have lots of left over stamped images. I could never just toss them out, but instead keep them all together in a file. That way, when I need an image for a project, I can pull one out and use. 

Let's put these two things together now, Journaling and Character Construction stamped images. What do I get? A really cool journal that I can take along with me to create as I like. Also comes in handy when both your husband AND your father have eye surgery and you spend lots of time at their many appointments. 

Some pages in the book are blank, some colored with sprays and paints while others might have some paper layers. Each a little canvas waiting to be filled.

Some images I glue onto the page and sometimes I have the stamp out, so I add the stamp to a page in the book. This can be colored and added to later, or while waiting, many times, in a doctors office, for hours.

Above is a completed page. I had added several layers of vintage ephemera and had one of these lovely Adventures in Tea ladies left over from a tag swap I had done. I just popped her right in and the page was complete!

For both the above and below pages, I had the background, colored in some extra stamped images I had and added them to complete. I can add more details later.

Creating art is my therapy, my me time, and any time I can get a little into my day makes it an awesome one! Thanks to Catherine Moore for all of the inspiration!!
