Pierrot Library Pocket Tag Book

This is a book that I created using library pockets and tags. The tags were trimmed down to fit within the pockets. I love how it turned out and I just went crazy with the brightly colored jewel tones and fibers.

Alpha Stamps is now offering .pngs downloads of different designs.  The one I used is from a set called Pierrot Paper Dolls. I love that I can use whatever image I want, size it, flip it, and print it on whatever paper I choose.  I used the new French Industrial 12x12 Paper Stash Pad, cut the pages down to 81/2 x 11 and then printed them. It just adds so much more character to a design.

I also went nuts using Distress Paints and Distress Stains. They easily dab onto the papers of my choice and can also be used with a paint brush. I especially enjoyed mixing the colors up.

The back of my tags have a lot of pizzazz but were very easy to create.  I just dabbed the printed papers with my color choice of Distress Stains and then stamped the image by using the Distress Paints directly onto my stamp.  Clean up is a breeze and it gives the image either a bright effect or an old time worn one. Below you can see how I stamped an image onto my library pockets.

Alpha Stamps is also offering individual .png images like the above curtain. I was able to size it however I wanted it to be, print it up and adhere. Having these images gives me so many more choices when creating my art.

I love the above image and the way it looks printed onto the printed card stock. Aged the edges with a little brown ink and done!

Above is another .png image download of an arch with columns.  I was able to make the columns as long as I needed them to be to fit on my tag. I also added the clouds and the performer came from the  Large Theater Harlequin collage sheet.

The above images are all from the Pierrot Paper Dolls .png set.

The above image came from the Large Theater Harlequin Collage Sheet as well.  The great thing about most of Alpha Stamps collage sheets now is they can be purchased digitally or in a variety of printed means such as card stock, clear sticker sheet or as a transparency. The possibilities are endless!

Below is a little info on how I put the whole book together.  I used a simple piece of heavier card stock and measured room for both envelopes with a little space in between to form the books binding.

You can see above how I folded the card stock to create a book.

Then, choose a paper you like to be the background for the front and back of your book.  Trim with about 1/2 inch of extra space to fold over. Then choose a paper for the inside of your book and add enough to cover the seam from the paper folded over from the front.

After your pockets are stamped and dry, add a bit of spread out glue to attach each pocket together. Make sure you don't add too much glue and that the pockets themselves are not glued shut.

Once the pockets are attached and dry, glue the back pocket to the back inside and the front to the front inside and voilĂ ..... you have a pocket book.

I've already started another tag book, but with a different set up.  Stay tuned to find out all of the details......
