I was at my daughter's school a couple of weeks ago admiring the artwork on the bulletin boards. Imagine my surprise when I saw my own daughter's name on two of the pieces. Below is an African Mask that she made. It is featured on the schools web site. I really love it and can't wait until she can bring it home. I honestly want to frame it and hang it on the wall. She explained all of the details to me about how they distressed the paper and made the designs. I was so proud.
Below is a weaving that she did. I am really impressed and have no idea how she made it but I have told her that she just has to show me. I will be hanging this on the wall as well.
The final piece featured on the school's web site is the fish below. I have this on a plaque that I ordered that is displayed in our living room. I think it is a fabulous idea for raising money for the school and giving the parents a memento to cherish for years to come. Needless to say, I am really impressed with her art teacher and the things they have learned about and created this year. She made an Egyptian drawing and has done some other great work as well.
I'm really proud of my girl. She just turned eight this past Valentine's day. I have always known she was a great artist. She catches on quickly and notices every little detail. She comes from a long line of artist. Her grandfather was an incredible painter, my dad does amazing work with pencil and water color, I learned from my mom and now my own girls can explore with me. I am glad that they have this quality. It adds so much peace, joy and confidence to one's life.
Hope you enjoyed my daughter's art!

What a talented youngster - I'm sure you are proud of her - as you should be!
I quite like the mask!
That child is a full blown artiste! Pride congratulated!
Like Mother, like daughter. Is is so great as a mother to see our children be artistic. I know I always pushed art at a very young age and both my children amazed me. Enjoy, her art is beautiful.
WONDERFUL Rhonda! What a display of talent! I know she will continue to grow as an artist, because I know her mama will encourage her! Congrats on her work being displayed!
Hi Rhonda, I hope you are feeling better. I love to visit your blog, check out mine, I have given you the sunshine award. Have a wonderful weekend. Hugs, Terri
I teach art to a group of 30 kids K-6th grade every Friday (and used to teach art everyday as my job) so I know what I'm saying when I say . . . you should be a proud mamma! You have a very talented artist in your house (besides you!)!
