Things I'm Excited About

Time for another dork post from RhondaMum. It's going to be a Killer week!

First things first, tomorrow is an exciting day because The Killers new album, Day & Age, will be in stores, and I am PSYCHED! Also on Monday, they will be on Jimmy Kimmel and on Tuesday they will be on Leno. I will be a screaming teenager, trapped in a 40 year old body, for most of the week.

The count down is on for their concert in January! Woo Hoo! My husband and I already know that we will have a blast!

On another note, the movie Twilight came out this past Friday. I had heard about this book from several friends, and my neighbor, who is also a dear friend, was HOOKED! So, I gave it a go. Oh my gosh, I could not put it down. I am now on the third book, Eclipse, from the series. My friend's sister is also into the series, big time. She purchased tickets for us about a month ago for Friday and we were so excited about this movie.

The theatre was packed, and although our ticket was for the 8:00 showing, we had to get there at 6:00 to stand in line so we would have a good seat. There were about 20 people in front of us, and by the end of the first hour, the line went clear around the theatre, twisted all back and forth like a huge line for the awesome roller coaster ride at a theme park. They even brought in popcorn and drinks on a cart so that people wouldn't loose their seats.

The movie was amazing! It was perfect in every way but one and that had to do with Edward's (the vampire) sparkle. But you would only understand that if you read the book.

The thing that kills me is how it is called a "tween" thing. I hate that term. This series is awesome and is read by all age groups. I mean, come on. I'm 40, my friend is 30, her sister is 35, the other gal was in her 50s, and my mom, who is also reading it and loves it, just turned 71.

I am VERY picky about what books I read and they really have to grab my interest or I just don't bother. The way the author, Stephenie Meyer, writes is fantastic and I love the way she pieces everything together. AND, she is a stay at home mom. So there you go.

I am really hoping that the other books in the series will be made into movies as well. And to the person that stole Midnight Sun, the fifth book that the author was working on, and posted it illegally on the Internet, SHAME ON YOU! That is one story I would have really like to have read.

Are you curious yet? I hope that at least one of you will be inspired to get this book and read it. I don't think you will regret it at all.

So, have a great week and be sure to also check out The Killers on Jimmy Kimmel and Leno. You might even hear me screaming from out in the distance.....

Hi Rhonda,
:) Thanks for the reminder about their new album coming out tomorrow! The movie looks great, I LOVE to read but rarely get the time to pick up a book these days.
Thansk for the review, I'll ask Santa for the books!

What a fabulous week! Have fun and enjoy every minute!

I came here with the purpose of awarding you the Marie Antoinette Award, but of course you already had it!

Ah, well, at least you know I was thinking about you, dear lady.

(I wish I could make a mold from the Eiffel Tower button, I could see them created as a pair of pmc earrings with vintage crystals!)
