My 49th Post, A Day of Shopping & A Giveaway

Oh my goodness! I can't believe I am almost on my 50th post! I read other people's blogs and think, "Wow, 50 posts. Wonder if I'll ever get there?" Fact is, I have a couple of post that I am still working on.
In the tradition of bloggers, I just have to have a 50th post giveaway. All you have to do is leave a comment on this 49th post, add my first ever made banner to your blog, and you will be entered. This will be my first individual giveaway and I am very excited!

The winner of my giveaway will win a collection of my favorite things including vintage papers, tickets, handmade tags, sheet music, and several other favorites. It will be well worth your time if you like the same types of things that I do. I will post the winner's name on Friday the 22nd.

For my blogger friends and all of the wonderful people I have met and inspired me, thank you from the bottom of my heart. This blog has changed my life and has made me feel more complete. I look forward to many more posts and new friends!

There is an article in the latest issue of Somerset Studio's Artful Blogging titled "Discovering Happiness in a Blog" written by Marisa Haedike. I can show this to my husband to let him know that I am "normal" in my love of blogging.

Now, on to my shopping adventure from last weekend...

I found this awesome adjustable, uh, store owner called it a shadow box but I don't consider it to be that. It isn't that old, but I was able to adjust the slats the way I wanted them, glued them in and displayed my collection of Eiffel Tower mounted stamps on it. I LOVE the way it turned out!
You can never have too much lace or seam binding!

I am obsessed with old decks of playing cards at the moment. I will list some of these in my Etsy store.

This box held parts for an old sewing machine that was for sale. Perfect example of "you don't know if you don't ask". Luckily they let me purchase just the box. I don't know, I just thought it was nifty!

Old, torn, and a treasure in my eyes...

Old packs of needles and some cool, huge buttons...

Some old Laura Ashley wall paper rolls in blue and yellow. I think I subconsciously purchased these for my friend Carolyn at http://magpie-pixie.blogspot.com/. She loves L.A. and I am making some shapes and sheets for her to use.

The clock is just something that I thought I could alter in some way.

I love vintage black cat items. I currently have two solid black cats. I had another that passed away after about 16 years together. I was heart broken. I thought that this little guy was just too cute.

Silly old advertisement, but thought it was neat.

So, there is some thrifting eye candy that I hope that you enjoyed.

Have a great day and may you find many treasures as you shop! Be sure to share pics of your goods!

You found some really kewl treasures! I don't think any of them are silly at all. The old artwork alone is a treasure! And your shadowbox...kind of looks like an old typesetter's box. I have one very similar. Thanks for visiting me during OWOH. Nice to meet you.

Good Evening Rhonda,
I am here by way of Pea@Pea'sCorner. She was telling about your 50th post Giveaway. "CONGRATULATION'S" on your upcoming 50th post. I have been blogging since September of last year and I do love it. I have made alot of new friends and have come to really love them as well. They are always there when we need them. I love your header. It is beautiful. I have just gotten into the Vintage style of things and just re-done my blog last night. One of my blogging friends made a new header for it as well. I will post about your 5th post Giveaway tomorrow. Please enter my name in your Giveaway. I love all of your goodies you bought. They are just adorable. We don't have any thrift stores here where I live, but we do have yard sales. When they start up, I'm going to be going to them and see what I can find. Take care my friend and have a great evening. May God Bless You and Yours.

Hugs,
Karen H.
